Hi, I have a Corsair Spec-05 Case but I have a question about the top part

The back-top of this case can hold 2 fans but if you didn't put any fans there it leaves a empty holes (basically empty space). This could then leads into dust getting inside my system in the near future. Is it worth buying a dust filter if I could fit it there?

Thanks

Fan specs?

Holes: mesh covered or just "open"? I think mesh but until you specifically confirm that then my "mind image" is that there is just a big hole on top.

As per @jay32267 - a big hole is just an invite for things to fall in..... That , as implied, will not end well.

Also, if the fans are not correctly sized and placed then the air flows may not be sufficient and/or following the correct paths to properly cool the system.

Fan locations are important but so are the locations of drives, GPUs, and other slotted components.

So any changes: blockages, filters, etc. could lead to future problems.

Does the following link show your case?

The top and back are likely to be exhaust so dust filters there would not be helpful.

What fans are now in the case and where?
2 at front
1 at the back

If the computer is sitting on the floor then just raising the computer 2 - 3 inches ( I use a wheeled platform) can make a difference. As can regular cleaning in the area and keeping pets away.
