Top of the line Monitor...

... baring all price considerations... eh, well let's just say nothing above 5 grand... what is the hands down best monitor, base criteria would be:

At least 21" (22-24 would be better)
No worse than .24 (.22 would be better)
Has to be totally flat
Better than 85 refresh rate at 1600x1200 (100ish would be better)
True colors

Weight, form factor, inputs, etc, don't really matter to much to me. This will primarly be used for gaming and graphics design... gaming comes first though as it's a home pc. No real preference on shadow/trin but would like to see a top end model of both to compare.

This monitor needs to last 5-7 years, as my next monitor will be plasma/lcd/whatever.

with 5grand you can get 10 top of the line 19" monitors.
Have you tried M$ flight simulator on 4-6 suround monitors?

22 - 24" too big for gaming?? I would have to disagree, the bigger the better!

check out toms review on 7 monitor. the top was the Mitsu diamond pro 2060U, and it's around $680. The viewsonic p225 and NEC FE1250 were second $600. And that's for 22 inchers..

go to pricewatch and look at the prices and stuff.

If you want LCD it's good, but ppl say that a CRT has better color quality than an LCD....at this current technology...

The Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB gives the best bang for the buck, its now in production instead of the 2060. Even better than the more expensive Sony.

I have, I'm looking for a bigger monitor than most of them have reviewed Don't see to many 24" monitor reviews yet, nor 22"... most are 19" and 21" since that is what most people buy.

btw- I disagree totally. In all honesty for gaming purposes the bigger the better. Soon as they have 54" displays with a good refresh rate... heh.

No, No I haven't. Nor do I want to since I don't play flight sims

I've never cared for multimonitor functions except for using them lightly in graphics design. I focus better in a single location. Shrug.
