Toshiba 2 TB 3.5" or 2.5" as external HDD?

Is Toshiba 2 TB 7200rpm 3.5" good HDD as external or should i buy 2.5"? WD Elements 2.5" 1 TB or 2 TB good or not or is it Toshiba better?

My personal experience with both brands of external HDDs - - - had issues with a Toshiba one last year & it eventually died only 6 months old. Compare that with the 3 WD ones I've had for 6 years and all 3 still working reliably.

2 TB/ 4TB drives have lower chance to break, compared to smaller ones.
ALSO 3.5 is faster, but require dual connector depending if you connect to usb 2 or 3.
This difference is quite standard to all 2.5 vs 3.5

Data recovery professionals generally recommend Toshiba in 2.5" and HGST in 3.5". Some Toshiba 3.5" models are in fact rebadged Hitachis.
