I bout a Toshiba 250 gb sata hard drive from somewhere that was being used in a dvr, when i connect it to my pc it displays "Error Auto-sensing Secondary Master Hard Disk Drive" while trying to boot. even its not being detected in bios. any solutions please. I know the hard disk is ok as it is still working in the dvr

Hey there, Shehek!

I think you might need a BIOS update. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for that.
Another thing you could try to detect the drive properly is resetting BIOS ( http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS )
I'd also suggest to check your Disk Management and see if the drive is detected there, because maybe the DVR is working with a different file system that causes confusion makes the drive unaccessible on your Windows system.
The error itself can indicate a hardware failure, but you mentioned that it's working in the DVR, so I doubt that the HDD is damaged.

Keep me posted!
