Question Toshiba 2TB flashing light??

so i have had a toshiba 2tb external hdd which was working fine until recently, now when i plug it in:

• had a flashing white light, inspected cable tried to straighten pins now i get a solid blue light followed by a flashing blue light
• when plugged in i cant access disk management ( window freezes)
• computer wont shutdown until the hdd is unplugged.

pretty sure i had the same issue about 6 months ago, cant remember how i fixed it

help would be much appreciated

no i have not as i havnt got another one with the same pins

Well, I'd probably start with trying that since it's the simplest possible issue. We can't divine an answer for you, you've got to do some troubleshooting yourself.
