Ok to make a long story short I've been using this drive for school for virtual machines, homework etc. and last night I tried saving homework to it and when I plugged it in the light came on, but was not flashing when it is active or did not feel like any inner parts were spinning/moving. Now I realized that I had a presentation on this drive and wasn't able to present it today, but that is besides the point. I was wondering if there was anyway I could get it working or recover the info on it since I figure it's trash, but the only problem is when I plug it in the computer it doesn't read it at all. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Remove the drive from its enclosure and attach it directly to a SATA port on your computer's motherboard. That will eliminate the enclosure as a suspect.

Could you also tell us the model number and manufacture date of the actual drive? Some drives were affected by manufacturing faults, and others developed bearing problems. In the latter case you should hear some soft sounds as the board attempts to kickstart the spindle motor.
