Toshiba A305-S6872 CPU Upgrade

I have a Toshiba A305-S6872 with the following specs:

• 
  GM45 Chipset
  Socket PPGA478
  GMA4500 Graphics
  Intel Core 2 Duo T5800

Has anyone confirmed that a 1066MHz FSB cpu works in a GM45 based Toshiba A305?

It'll work, but you should definitely update your BIOS first:

My recommendations are the P9600, P9700, or T9900.

It will work as Voltoid said, but i would recommend a better motherboard if you have the money if not and you dont game you should be fine though.

I'd imagine finding a replacement board would be quite difficult since Toshiba isn't as forthcoming about their parts as, say, Lenovo is. (They made it quite easy to upgrade my Thinkpad T42)

My bad, I should've checked that. I'm having trouble finding any stories of a confirmed working A305 with a 1066MT/s FSB CPU, but I'll keep looking.

I dont think they will to be honest, but i guess they can to.

I also doubt it would work; I have a feeling the Toshiba BIOS will sync the memory and FSB speeds, and since the laptop maxes out at DDR2-800, I'd speculate that an FSB speed of 1066 would be rejected by the BIOS.
