Hi All,

I have Toshiba Satellite A505-6033. I bought it in 2010. I want to upgrade it. These are the specs. http://www.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a505-s6030/4507-3121_7-33981967.html

I need advice as to what to upgrade. Can I upgrade the SSD/HDD and Memory RAM?
I'm looking at these:
SSD:Samsung (MZ-7TE500LW) 840 EVO 500GB
HDD:WD Black 750GB SATA 6Gbps 7200RPM 16MB 2.5 Notebook HDD OEM WD7500BPKX
RAM: 2xKingston Sodimm DDR3 PC3 12800 4GB (KVR16S11/4)

Could anyone tell me if these would be compatible with my Toshiba and that they'd work?
If they aren't compatible, please advice on what to get.

Thanks a lot.

Yes SSD will help you boot-up faster and the programs will open fast which are installed on SSD. It has better responsiveness than a HDD. The only downside with SSD is storage capacity, so if you are fine with 500GB space then go with a SSD.

Games wont benefit from SSD. Good luck.
You can be able to fit either SSD or HDD not both on your Lappy, cause it has no space for both drives.

And for RAM you can get your desired one, but I think it will be waste of money as your current RAM is 1066MHz which is max supported by your CPU, so getting a 1600MHz RAM (PC12800) will not help you. The CPU/MB will downclock the RAM to run at 1066MHz.

Better get another 4GB of 1066MHz RAM.

You can check RAM compatibility here : http://www.crucial.com/

Got it. Thanx for the advice. Will start looking for the parts. I was told that SSD is better than HDD, is that true?
I'm still new at posting in Forums. I think I just re-quoted you without reply^_^...still getting a hang of it.
