Toshiba external 1tb hard drive not detected

Hi All

My External Toshiba 1TB Hard Drive is damaged and now computer detects the drive but when i am trying to access it it shows message this drive needs to be formatting before us.

but i don't want to format it as i have important data on it.
can anybody tell me please option for data recovery from damaged drive.

Is the hard drive under warranty? If not open the the external case and connect it directly to the system. If still under warranty don't break anything.

1. Replace cable used to connect external HDD
2. Run EaseUS Partition Recovery(free)

If you can find the partition you will be able to restore it..If not you will have to use a data recovery software to get the data off. Runtime & r-studio make good apps.
