Toshiba HDD diagnostic scan, need error code

I have looked for a Toshiba diagnostic tool scan. I only found tools pointing to other HDD diagnostics not from Toshiba them selves. ex - sea tools, Hitachi, WD diagnostic.

I am looking for a tool that will give the error could for the Toshiba HDD, reason being it's under warranty and needs to be shipped off. Toshiba needs an error code to except the drive.

I found forums to Fujitsu Branded Toshiba drive diagnostic tool. Does anyone know if this would give an error code?

Hi there LegacyOfWax,

You should look for the tool in their website either under Downloads or Warranty Policy/Support.
Most of the HDD manufacturers want to run a brand specific software on the problematic HDD in order to prove that it is eligible for RMA.
Most probably the one that you have found will perform the test you need.
Keep in mind that it is always a good idea to contact manufacturer's support to assist you with the process of RMAing the drive.

To assess the physical state of the drive, I would examine the SMART report using a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo.

Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

To perform a surface scan of your drive, you could use MHDD (a DOS tool) or HDDScan (a Windows tool).

Toshiba warranty did not require me to have an error code to send it back just basic HDD test.
