Toshiba Laptop Black Screen

I've been looking all over, but couldn't find a solution to this. The laptop starts up, the fans run, the LEDs are on, and the keyboard lights are on too. But the screen won't turn on, and I've already tried using an external monitor and it still won't work.

Does the laptop boot into Windows? Can you hear Windows system noises when you press keys? During the boot sequence, try pressing the Fn+Fx key combination that switches to external display, and see if it outputs to the external monitor.

Other than this, it is possible that your laptop's GPU or mobo has failed, or the monitor has failed and there is no way to output the screen to an external monitor.
