Toshiba Laptop screen black

Hi everyone,

I hava a toshiba sattelite L500-1ut (Windows 7) and the screen is completely black
The laptop is turning on properly and I even have it connected to an external
monitor and I can use it correctly that way. I am thinking on a damage scree but the strange thing is that when I go to the device manager the laptop screen hardware is not showing there, it just shows the external monitor hardwarem so it´s as though the internal screen was not there at all for the OS. What do you think the issue can be?

Have you tried to hit Fn + F5 to switch the display or Fn + F7 to increase brightness? If that does nothing, I would check & realign the connection to the LCD if your comfortable taking the PC apart a little. Make sure you unplug the battery first if you do. :]
