The power switch on my Toshiba Satellite P855-S5200 laptop will not work most of the time, thus I am leaving the laptop on all of the time. I see that a replacement part is available for sale on ebay, but I can't seem to find instructions for how to replace it. The Toshiba manual does not show anything about taking the computer apart. I am hesitant to take apart my laptop without some type of guidance. Any suggestions about where to find out how to do this?

Thanks for these suggestions. I already have the manual which says nothing about taking the laptop apart except to replace the battery and install more memory. I was hoping there is some other manual, perhaps like is used by computer repair professionals, that shows how to replace the power switch. The other link has how to take out the keyboard, but nothing about the power switch. I don't know if it is something I just buy and plug in at both ends, or if it is more involved, like for example requiring soldering. At Best Buy they said sometimes a laptop power switch can be part of the mother board. If that is the case, I probably won't even attempt this. But if it is just a matter of taking the laptop apart, pulling out the component and easily attaching a new one, I'm up for it.
