I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that came with Windows 8.
I upgraded it via the free update to Windows 10 some time back.
Recently it hangs at boot and offers to repair, which it fails to do.

It, apparently, does not have the ability to do a Factory Restore.
I would like to use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a USB "recovery" drive, but the only option that seems like it would work - is to do a complete Windows "install", which I am sure will ask me for a License key ( which I don't have, since they're no longer "stickered" like they used to be).

Need some advice please...........................................

Solution
As this machine came with 8 the licence key is coded into the motherboard, this key can also activate windows 10.

The Windows 10 setup SHOULD detect this automatically and not ask you for one during install, however if it does not, click the option on the product key entry screen to skip key entry, then select the correct windows version your PC is licenced for (Likely home). The install will complete and you should be able to activate with the on-board key after installation.
