Toshiba model l635 weak volume at max settings

Hello,
my volume/sound settings on my toshiba L635 are always at max setting yet the produced exterior sound is always very weak listening. headphones improve things but I'd like a higher volume sound on the laptop without having to use the headphones. Suggestions?

Sometimes you have to go into the properties and click on Enhancements in sound properties. It is usually in the Speaker Properties. I think I got mine to play louder with putting a checkmark in the "Loudness Equalization" section.
