Toshiba Portable hard drive not opening

i have a Toshiba Portable Hard drive. DTP 110 is the model i think. recently i copied some movie files to it from a friends usb stick and immediately after this it wouldnt open. it trys to but comes up with an error msg. what could this be?

Maybe if you told us the error message we could help... do you not think that is an important piece of information?

Hi there clintex,

As Mattios said, it would be really helpful if you could provide a screenshot of the error message or at least tell us what it is about.
Apart from that, you can provide some more information on how is the drive recognized by Disk Management and Device Manager.

I guess you can do some basic troubleshooting like attaching the HDD with a different USB cable to a different port.
