Toshiba portege just froze and then stopped powering on

i was watching a movie ad suddenly froze. i tried switching off but couldn't so i removed the battery and put it back. tried switching on it failed, i plug in the powerpack, the lights can on and switched on itself but with not screen display with excess heat and fan not running

That doesn't sound too good. Have you tried turning it on without the battery plugged in? I would also try taking out the RAM one by one and turning it on. Honestly, what you are describing to me sounds more like a motherboard issue, and we will just hope and pray that it's not that.
