I'm trying to fix my gf's laptop. Basically when ever I try and boot her laptop up, it says bootmgr is missing. She was running windows 7. Her laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L755D. What I'm wondering is can I use the recovery disc from my Toshiba Satellite C660 that also runs windows 7.
Please help.
Thank You

Short answer no. They have different hardware setups and the recovery disc is set specifically to your machine. Download the iso for the version of Windows 7 your gf's laptop has from http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/ and burn it to disc or create a bootable USB.

Do not use it to completely re-install Windows on your gf's laptop as the serial key on the underneath won't work. But the ISO will have the "Repair my computer" option, choose that instead of installing a new version of Windows
