Toshiba Satellite A215 Fan Problem

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215 - S5824 model no. PSAFGU-0601D

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-core TK-57 @ 1.9GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon X1200 Series Graphics (700 Mbytes)
RAM: 2.5GB DDR2
Mboard: Unknown to CPU-Z

It had Windows Vista Home Premium on it,
but due to sluggish performance i wiped it and put XP professional on,
I had a driver program find and install drivers for the computer,

After a month or so i began to notice that the fan did not increase in speed when the temperature was above normal.
It got to the point where the computer actually shut itself down due to heat.
i tried Speed-fan but it seems to not run on this computer

Is there another program or a driver that could be used to fix this?

usually the fan is controlled by the bios. you could check with the manufacturer of the computer to see if there is some special software for the fans.
