Toshiba satellite blinking leds lights no power up

Toshiba Satellite L40-15G blinking leds no power up.

This is the problem, the laptop wont power up, e remove everything, memory, battery, all of that, 30 seconds pressing power button, to descharge, and nothing.

Only blinks the power (green) led - and the battery (orange) led, blink, blink, non stop blinking, non top really.

When i connect the ac adapter only the green led and orange led shows, after few seconds, start blinking, non stop blink...

What can i do???

I have universial ac adapter to charger, and wont solve the problem...

Help, please, urgent.

Press the space bar, a blinking green light infers that the laptop is in hibernation or sleep mode.

TenPC, thanks for your reply, but the laptop, is allready open, some one tak the CMOS battery out, dont know wy but ok, any way, the laptop, don´t have power, dont have battery on it, after few day, i try one more time to swich on, and more of the same, bliking leds, the green and the orange one.

Im gona try to be more specific, when connect the ac adapter, the laptop shows green led on, and blinking orange led, and no tor on, or starup.

Green led on it, and blinking led, the orange one the battery one.

Thats all.

And do you hear start up sounds? like windows start up ? And do you see the LED screen gets bright or stays black. if Black and no sound then it might be as well as broken parts in your laptop. If you hear sound but nothing visual then screen problem.

Google "toshiba satellite blink codes". You'll have to decode the pattern of blinks (they form a hexadecimal code). However, most codes of this type point to the motherboard as the source of the problem.

You need to put the cmos battery back into the motherboard. However, it might not make any difference, if the cmos battery has be removed for more than 3 days the cmos chip is possibly dead and the bios will no longer show. It might be possible to replace the cmos chip.

A universal power adapter, although readily available is not the actual voltage/amp required by the laptop, refer under the laptop for the exact v/a required. Any deviation from the exact adapter required will cause issues with the battery, capacitors and other components.

If the cmos chip is not dead then it might be the laptop battery and a replacement might fix your issues however, you would need to acquire the correct adapter for the laptop so that the issue does not re-occur.

Here the thing:

First - i don´t know why, they take the battery out of mainboard, realy don´t...

Second- i try connect the ac adapter universial, to see what appens, but i do think, the original is ok.

in the end, can you confirm is the CMOS battery stay out for few days, can kill the Bios, and then all motherboard can no longer gonna switch up again?

Please, confirm that.

Guanhao, i say if the scrren or any kind o beeps, i can say to you, the screen or beeps, never appens, just the leds show up, the green one (power), and the orange blinks (battery).

Thats all it appens.

About cmos battery, it will not kill it. when you take out Cmos battery for a minute or more it just Reset your whole Bios settings, if i'm saying this correct.

Once again, thanks for all reply, you are right, i guess, the CMOS battery out only reset the Bios setting, iguess, everytime power up the laptop, allways must be configure the bios date and time and so on, i guess, only that...

Any help, about led light flashing...it help lot...

The bios date/time to always be configured is that the bios is not being powered by neither the cmos battery nor the laptop battery. You need to replcae the cmos battery with a new one.

It does take quite a while before the CMOS does die, with a laptop cmos, it could be as long a 90 days without a cmos battery. When the cmos chip is held by the manufacturer prior to being set in a motherboard, the chip is put into a bedding that powers the chip and is not just thrown into a storage box ready fur use.

You are best to take the laptop to a service repaiir shop for expertise attention, there really is not a lot you can do unless you can replace the cmos battery yourself, without damaging the laptop in the process.
