my L300d battery won't charge even though it's plugged and says 'charging' I've done the ACPI comp.control uninstall, when I restart the charge icon is 'charging for about 5 seconds then stops, so every time laptop starts it is from boot and asks which I want 'safe' etc always do 'normal' now showing 'normal' but is stuck in safe mode, help!!

Can you please confirm which Windows are you using? Assuming that it is Windows 7, you can try the following:

To come out of the Safe Mode loop, you can:

> Start the computer.

> On the desktop window, press Windows + R.

> In the Run command box, type MSCONFIG and hit Enter.

> Go to the Boot tab in the System Configuration box.

> From under the Boot options section, uncheck the Safe boot checkbox.

> Click OK from the bottom and when Windows prompts, restart the computer.

Also, if you believe that the issue occurred after you have uninstalled or changed any existing program, you can use This Link to Learn How to Restore Your Windows to an Earlier Restore Point when you think the computer worked fine.

Running Vista home premium, thanks have tried both your suggestions and they haven't worked unfortunately, still open to any ideas though,
