If I turn up the volume on my laptop so I can hear I get feedback. I cannot disable the built in microphone.

I'd suggest following these steps to fix your sound problems. I know the tutorial is titled, "No sound in Windows" but it applies to feedback issues as well - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/no-sound-in-windows
