Toshiba Satellite L650D-11E ram issue.

Hello,it seems like i have a RAM problem at my laptop.Recently,i went into my computer's properties and in the ram line it showed "3GB(only 0.99 usable)".I switched my two memory sticks places (2gb and 1gb) and then it was showing 1.99 usable.

Anybody knows what's going on?Thanks!

I don't know why switching the modules gives a different reading, but on many laptops the graphics adapter does not have dedicated memory, it has to "share" memory with the rest of the hardware sub-system. So let's assume the graphics adapter is currently using 1GB of RAM, that will leave only 2GB (or maybe 1.99GB exact figure) for Windows, and that's the figure that Windows reports.

On some lappies yes, look in the BIOS, that's where the setting is...IF you have it...
