I have a Toshiba satellite L755D-7224 laptop.
A6 3400M CPU.
8 gigs main memory
1 TB SSD
Bios version 1.5
Windows 7 64 bit

Can the CPU be upgraded and if so what are my upgrade options?
Any help here would be greatly apricated.

I had it apart a year or so ago but I didn't look at the CPU. Just upgraded the HHD to a SSD.

Thanks!

Yes from here. https://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket_FS1.html Socket FS1r2 has same pin layout but not supported in any L755D bios, needs to add microcode.

Your fine with these processors. Remember your cpu is running 1400mhz all 4 core, improvement will be to 1800/1900 or 2000mhz on 4 cores.
If you can find A8-3510mx , A8-3530Mx or A8-3550Mx cheap used on ebay or aliexpress "might" be worth it, looking like 3510mx is around 25$ shipped worldwide.

Remember this only gives you about 20% increase in performance, maybe worth 25 but not anything more.

Thank you sir. Kinda what I was thinking. It's so my 6 year old daughter can play a few games with her older brothers. Now to just keep an eye out for one on ebay. =)
