Question Toshiba Satellite laptop not displaying anything on screen

My Toshiba Satellite L50 Skullcandy laptop turns on when I press the power button.

the power light comes on, the fan starts but there is no image on the display screen.

Please can somebody point me in the direction of repairing this issue? Thanks all.

test with an external monitor?

I tried with an external monitor and it still the same, Laptop is on with power light on and the fan on but no video on the screen.
