Toshiba Satellite P870 EGPU

I have an Toshiba Satellite P870 laptop. I want to know if you could use an EGPU (XCSOURCE EXP GDC Laptop External Independent Video Card PCI-E Graphics Card for Beast Dock Mini PCI-E AC774) with it. I have a mini PCIE wifi card slot in my laptop (Which works). Would this laptop be compatible with an EGPU?

Any answers would be appreciated.

Since you have a working mini-pcie slot then yes it is compatible but like most others you will need to modify the case to actually run the cable to it.

Thanks I have ordered a EGPU dock today. I will post when i get it and test it out.

One quick question though if I want to use my internal screen will I need to disable the Optimus technology on the computer.

You will need an Nvidia eGPU that has Optimus to use the internal screen. Optimus can hijack the frame buffer of the Intel cpu's gpu to display its screen. This does hinder performance even more since now even more data has to go thru the 1 pcie lane that the egpu gets to use.
