My Toshiba 32D3454DB will not connect to the internet. When I select wireless on networking screen it just locks the screen and has to be turned off at the wall before the TV can be used again. No problem with laptop or smart phone.

Solution
Try a factory reset.

There should be some instructions within the TV's manual. Maybe in a troubleshooting section.

One site mentioned pushing in and holding the power button for 5 seconds to reset the TV.

Google "Toshiba 32D3454DB TV Factory Reset". You will find other procedures/methods.

One thing to remember is that sometimes wireless devices may take some time to search about and find or otherwise detect nearby wireless networks. That may be what is happening during the "screen locks".

Did the TV connect to the internet before or is this a new TV?

Are you aware of any changes to your home network? Any additional devices or changes anywhere? Who manages the router?

The TV needs to know what wireless network it is to join and have the necessary password to do so. Normally you use the TV's menu screens to access and configure the TV for wireless connectivity.

There may be some additional configuration necessary as the default TV network settings are unlikely to match your network. (And if they do that could mean your network is not secure.)

Do you have the TV's User Guide/ Manual?

If not here is a link that may help:

The TV is not new but has not been used to connect to the internet before. I have the TV user manual but it is no help whatsoever. Nothing has changed with equipment. I do know the network and the password but I cannot get that far. As soon as I select wireless the tv screen locks and I cannot even confirm it with OK. Nothing can be done but turn the TV off at the wall.

Does not take much signal degradation to cause a problem. One device may be fine where another device in the same location could have a problem.

Anyway see if you can restore the TV to its factory settings and then reconfigure for your wireless network.
