Toshiba TV (Model 40FT1U) Resolution Problems

Hello,

I've been using this TV for a while, and it has always never been up to par with an actual monitor I would assume, however I would still expect it to do what it clearly advertises, and that is to run at a 1920x1080 resolution. That is the issue however, because it doesn't seem to be able to run at that resolution without the edges getting cut off by the TV, forcing me to run in a super-janky resolution size (1768x992).

Not only this, but it does also say that it has a refresh rate of 60hz, yet I am stuck to either picking 30hz or 29hz with the Nvidia control panel. Now, I'm either missing something and being completely dumb, or this TV is not doing what it's advertised to do.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: Here is a picture of the Nvidia control panel settings by the way: http://i.imgur.com/W4Vktzq.png

I am also using an HDMI cord if that matters.

Solution
Hello.

First, set the TV at 1920x1080p, 60hz. This is the only resolution it should be, and the native one.

Once at this resolution, check the zoom on the TV remote. If it is set at "Same as Original" then all is ok. Disable any "oversacan" settigns. Next, in the Nvidia control panel, you have "Adjust Desktop Size and position". Use that to adjust any wrong adjustment.

I actually just figured it out a couple hours ago, forgot to say so. It was the TV being in some funky mode instead of native, but it was hidden in the theatre settings. Thank you anyways!
