Toshiba tv no longer has access to Internet

My toshiba tv keeps saying 'wifi dongle detected' 'wifi dongle removed' over again and I can no longer access the Internet. I have already reset the th back to first installation but it hasn't made a difference. The Internet used to work fine and now it can't even scan for networks as it crashes the tv. Any ideas?

All other wireless devices working okay and as normal - correct?

Is the dongle nice and tight in the port?

Have you tried another port on the TV if there is more than one port?

Does the dongle feel unusually hot?

Does the dongle work in another TV? Can you try a different dongle in your TV?

Could be the TV port or the dongle. Just need to see if you can identify which one is the problem. That is the "starting point".
