[SOLVED] Toshiba X300 has 3 Connectors?

Hi all,

My friend just bought the Toshiba Performance X300 4TB 7,200rpm.

Send me a picture asking where the 3rd connector goes but I had no idea. I couldn't find a product manual online anywhere. I know the usual two is to connect the Power to the PSU and Sata Interface to the Motherboard, but the 4th connector on the HDD looks like some sort of 4-pin connector. Any idea what that is?

Solution
Only connect the SATA power cable from the power supply and the SATA data cable to a motherboard´s sata port. That´s it.

Some HDDs offer a standard Molex power connection if the power supply doesn´t provide enough SATA power connectors. So you can chose between ths sata power or the molex power.
like this HDD:

on the left is the SATA power and DATA port, on the right the 4pin molex port. Only one power connector has to be plugged in

The small 4 pins of the X300 won´t be needed. Just ignore these. These are jumper pins

Also could be a diagnostics port for something like this...

other drives use this jumper block to decrease the speed from 3Gb/s to SATA 1.5Gb/s. But that´s only a thing if it would be installed in a very old PC.
