Hi Everyone,

I need to do a clean install of windows 10 onto my laptop. I've had some trouble before with a much older laptop where not all of the drivers were installed after a clean install of windows 7.
I went through the usual channels of installing the drivers from the company website and letting windows update fully, but it still didn't have all of the track pad and fn key drivers installed.

I want to make absolutely sure that I avoid this problem with my HP laptop. The touch screen and track pad both have gesture features that I'd definitely like to keep.

It's an HP 15-g122ds TouchSmart 15.6" Laptop.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A clean install of Windows never installs all the drivers that are required because the Windows disc doesn't have all the drivers.
Any that are missing you have to download from the PC or laptop manufacturer's website, which for your laptop means the HP website.

However, if you perform a Factory Recovery rather than a clean install from a Windows disc, all the required drivers will be included in the recovery process & you won't have to download any.

Yeah, I found that online. I factory reset my old acer laptop with alt F10. I'll do the same with my HP after I've backed up some files.

Thanks for the help!
