Touchpad won't work when charging on Asus laptop

My new Asus x401a's touchpad is non-responsive while the laptop is charging. Any solutions? It has windows 8 so that's problem 1. It may be a driver but its never had this problem before.

Ever figure out a fix for this? I'm having the same problem with my Asus laptop.

I shows little problem some time, when you work for long time its touchpad idle for period of time.

I have the same problem; however, the problem of the touchpad being non-responsive while charging is true only when I use six particular outlets in my home (in 2 rooms). When I use other outlets throughout the rest of the house, the touchpad works just fine. Any thoughts?

I have an identical problem with a Dell Vostro 1015.

I believe this is an earthing problem.
(I'm talking about a european standard 2 pin power plug.)

I have an old charger with a 2 pin plug which has earthing tabs
which works ok.
I have a new charger with a 2 pin plug which hasn't earthing tabs
which causes an erratic touchpad/cursor.

One way I have worked around this problem is to connect my headphone socket by a cable to an earthed stereo system.
Now the touchpad/cursor works normally.

I don't have enough knowledge to explain how this works but it does.

Obviously this is not an ideal workaround as I don't carry my stereo around with me all day.

So perhaps a better solution would be to remove the unearthed 2 pin power plug and replace it with an earthed 2 pin power plug?
