Touchscreen monitor for visually impaired

Greetings

Imagine this gets asked periodically.

I wanted to know what sort of specs or which monitors are easiest on the eyeballs. I'm blind in one eye and 70% in the other so like to zoom in 125%-150% I'm combination with increased text size. On my current 24" which I got before becoming visually impaired such adjustment don't quite fit comfortably.

I tend to sit/stand just under 2ft away from the screen. I mainly use the monitor for virtual tabletop boardgames/ttrpgs and a bit of very basic content creation (videos/Image design). I also prefer to future proof as much as I can - my logic being if I go mid teir then it may get dated far quicker than if I go for a higher spec that may seem overkill for my needs. This way I mostly keep a monitor for many many years - last one I have had since 2015 and only now thought there is probably healthier monitors for eyes)

Ideally looking for:

▪︎ Touchscreen

▪︎ USB C

▪︎ 27" (assuming that will accolade the zoom/text better without being to big for my own eyeball)

▪︎ Adjustable height/tilt as I use a sit stand desk(but not essential)

▪︎ Antiglare ( not essential)

Grateful for your advice and any direct monitor options would be appreciated.

If you used a big TV then you wouldn't need magnification as everything would be big. Commercial TVs (usually used for kiosks and signage) often have a touch-screen overlay option available, which you may have actually used at your local fast-food establishment to order food with.

Most places seem to use a small 55" TV, which would already be 200% the size of a 27" at the same resolution. It's faster to move your head and more exercise too.

I hear you.

Can't quite picture using a 55" screen for my desktop PC monitor though 😅 My current 24" is near the limit of what my field of vision can comfortably/practically see. 27" with some zoom feels like it will be the limit. 32" would be too big and I'd be turning and struggling to view what's on the screens with 1 eye trying to take in all the information.

P.s It takes me quite some time to order on those screens 😂 often I am tapping at it wondering why it isn't working...only to find a pop up outside of my visual field is asking for something 😛

Even someone with perfect vision has a limited field of view, hence the advice to "keep your head on a swivel" when doing something dangerous like driving.

The idea with a big TV is standing further back, then stepping up close when you need to see fine detail, but if touch is your primary input then the length of your arms is limiting! Perhaps a Fairy Godmother wand sized or telescoping stylus could help.

I always thought the sniper rifle type zoom in games was more convenient than something like Windows Magnifier, and imagine a momentary button you could step on to take a quick look at wherever the cursor is pointed would be more useful than zooming everything, then having to find the part you wanted to examine more closely again.
