From the manual:

Joy Up Peddle
Joy Left Steer left
Joy Right Steer Right
Button 1 Pause
Button 2 Highter gear
Button 3 Lower gear
Button 4 Reach for Water Bottle

'..Your gear indicator is at the bottom center of the screen.

Your energy is indicated by a line at the top left corner of the screen.
If it gets too short, you better grab a water bottle from one of the stands
at the side of the road...'

Well let's see .. there are only three gears in your rear derailleur.
Shift back and forth from gear to gear to see what each does. You gotta
get water when you pass the water stand to keep up your energy and your
pace.

Your standing changes after every fall.
