and yet the 6950's do better in sli than sli 570...plus its 100% unlocked...

what motherboard then for great xfire and auto OC on the i5 2k?

Assuming the HD6950 can unlock(not necessarily a wise thing to do) here is a rather extensive comparison of Crossfired HD6970s vs SLIed GTX 570s from a reliable source;
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/graphics/display/radeon-hd6970-crossfirex.html
If you just want to skip to the summary here is the chart;

They trade blows but the GTX 570s come out ahead more often and to a higher degree than the HD6970s, especially at 1080p where the difference in memory doesn't have much of an affect.

I have never quite seen a graph like that lol, sorry x) could you elaborate a lil' bit? thanks!

If you are having problems reading it the GTX 570 SLI performance is the baseline. The bars represent how much better or worse the Crossfired HD6970s performed in comparison. So negative numbers(bars going left) mean they were worse than the GTX 570s in that test, positive numbers(bars going right) mean the HD6970s were better.
The purple bars are 1080p and the yellow ones are for 2560x1600. The chart on the left is without AA, the chart on the right is with AA.
