TP-LINK adaptor - stays at 65mbps

Hi, I have a TP-LINK adaptor 150mbps (TL-WN722N). I have used it over 1 year now and the speed never changes, it always 65 mbps. Although sometimes its very slow even with the 65mbps. So i think there is something wrong....

What speed is your wireless router? you may need to change the router to use 40 mhz channel.

My previous router's speed is 20, and my new one is 60. And how to change it to 40 mhz channel? A link will be very helpful. Thanks

Virgin media by any chance.
You can set the router to 144 Mbps with an TP-Link in the router.
Just be aware any adapter less than the N like a 54g adapter will have problems connecting.
There is also a 300Mbps speed 2.4Ghz for N-150 5Ghz for N-300

Well somewhere inside the router's configuraton settings, there might be a channel speed section; For some reason, sometimes they come set at 20 and not 40, and when you change it to the higher number it let's you connect at the higher speeds.

You can only connect as fast as your slowest device, be it the wireless card, or the wireless router.
