So I have a TP-Link N900 Adapter that I bought because I'm moving soon and don't want to wire up an ethernet solution to a different room than the router. When I tried placing it in the PCI-EX1-2 slot on my Asus Z170P motherboard it just wouldn't budge in because the bracket for the adapter is too short and won't reach the bracket of my case. It's a Bitfenix Nova with those push-out brackets that you bend out and don't put back in. I have yet to order my GTX 1060 and now I'm afraid that it won't fit either. If any further info is required just feel free to ask. This is my first ever build and it went great besides having to reseat the ram once and a couple screws lost and found.

Solution
Does your Bitfenix Nova includes the motherboard standoffs/screws? Were you able to install these:

Also, in your Asus Z170P motherboard, have you tried installing the TP-Link N900 PCIe Adapter in the PCIEX16_2 slot? It is compatible (note that you can plug a PCIex1 into the x16 slots, they are compatible; but not the PCI slots).

Solution

Thanks for the response! My motherboard is in place with all the standoffs and everything and I actually managed to get the Network adapter in on my own. Turns out that metal bracket is supposed to go in between a special little "holder" that the case includes. You have to unscrew it, put the metal bracket onto the adapter and plug it in. Then you put the piece back on and screw everything back on. Pretty weird but I figured it out. Thanks again!
