Hi,
I have the fallowing situation and maybe someone can help me make the right setting.

I have 2 ADSL lines (Sky & BT) and I would like to connect them into a TP-Link TL-470 load balance router.

First I will write here what i would like to have them linked into my house and after I will share my experience until now.

Please note that most of the time the network is used for watching movies through Plex Media Server.
Let's start:

2 ADSL ->TP-link Load Balance -> Desktop running Plex(connected to TP-Link)
-> Netgear D3600 Router Connected to TP-Link
-> Smart TV(wired connected to Netgear)
-> switchHub(connected to Netgear) ->Smart TV ->RokuBox(connected to switch)
-> Wireless connected devices(phones & Laptops)

Can someone please help me configure this network. I really don't know where to keep the DHCP server and what other changes I should make into my provider router in TP-Link one and into Netgear as well.

Now regarding my experience so far, it goes like this. I didn't try to connect the BT router because I'm stuck with the sky one.

I know that the Sky router (sagem one) is very restrictive and what i tried to do is to turn off DHCP server, wireless and UPNP.
For some reason if I manage to connect the TP link to the Sky, when I connect the Netgear to TP -Link I will not have any connection and I will lose the one between TP-Link and Sky as well. I tried to change the IP addresses of the TP-Link and Netgear as well to be different, but I'm sure that somewhere I'm doing something wrong and a little help will be appreciated.

Thank you for making time to read this.

Solution
Start the easy way and change it later.

You first want each of the provider routers to work by themselves. You would want different ip address blocks on each just to make things easier. For example user 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x. Leave these run as normal to start they will give each give your tplink router a ip on its wan ports via dhcp. On the tplink set the lan to use say 192.168.3.x and it will give you end pc ip.

Eventually you can work on running your provider routers in bridge mode and run pppoe on each wan connection in the tplink but that can be tricky sometimes.

I hope you are aware that you can not combine these connection to get a say faster downloads or larger video streams. It works best as...

You can also run some machines on one connection and other on the other.....but it would be simpler to just plug those into the different provider routers. You will have a lot of issues if you try to let the router just randomly send traffic over the different connections. You have 2 different IP addresses and it causes all kinds of problems if a server on the internet thinks you are trying to access it using multiple IP.

Solution
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your answer.
So you are saying to leave the DHCP server On , on all the routers and just give them different IP addresses. I will try this.
I also have a TP-link N 150 router and I swap it with the Sky(Sagem) one, which is not supporting bridge mode, but I couldn't connect it through TL-R470. I tried to connect it by himself to the internet, then checked bridge mode, but when i try to create a PPPOE connection in TL-R470 it's not working. Maybe I need to make some other changes as well and I'm not aware of them.

I know that this type of connection will not double my speed. I just hope it will handle best the devices that are connecting to the internet and I will get my speed doubled over utorrent :).

Any other ideas on how should I set up my network and have only 1 router that can handle the DHCP for all my devices ?
Thank you.

The load balancer will do the DHCP for all your devices. The DHCP on the other routers is just to give the WAN ports on the load balancer IP. I suppose you could use static. Now if you get bridge mode to work then you would only have dhcp on the load balancer.

Load balancers are complex to get working is why I recommend you avoid the bridge issue on the first pass. The only disadvantage is the double nat but that is mostly a game console issue.

Hi Peter,
I didn't succed in setting up this network, as I was really busy lately and most of the time l, not at home.
Today I have some spare time and I will try to do it again. Probably we'll have to ask bill for his help again :)
If you found a solution to this i'll really appreciate it if you can share it with us, so I can spare some time.
All the best!
