I was using this dongle for a couple of weeks before updating to Windows 10 and everything was perfectly fine. Upon updating Windows installed their own drivers for it and now I keep getting random intervals of it cutting out and connectivity being horrible.

I tried running the CD that came with the dongle to try and install the drivers that came with it but upon installing them my WiFi just went out completely and it couldn't find any networks, nor did the wireless manager that TP-Link has work properly.

I read somewhere that I should be using the Windows 8.0 64-bit version for now until they release a Windows 10 version, is this true? If not what's the best version of the driver to run? Should I just keep the version that Windows thinks is best, I try updating in device manager but it says that it's up to date.

Hi Jaakey,

This is a pretty common problem right now while companies are trying to catch drivers up to the Windows 10 release. For now the best bet would be to either install the Windows 8 version and see if that is more reliable, or see if the Windows genaric driver can provide better connectivity. Obviously neither options are ideal, but until a proper Windows 10 driver comes out for your device those are your best options.

Okay, thanks for the reply and info! Would you recommend the Windows 8 or 8.1 driver?
