I just built my computer. I installed Windows 10. Installed the drivers for he motherboard and gpu. Then I installed the drivers for the wireless adapter but it does not recognize my wifi. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

Thank you for any help provided.

Solution
Only prob with some of TPlink's drivers, is they're not reliable.

Someone in here had a different adapter, it was also TPLink.

A lot of people were having probs getting the thing to connect and stay connected. Or the speed is too slow. In the end they had to use a completely different driver, to get it to work properly

I'm also using TPlink adapters, they're USB dual band. TPlink doesnt have Win10 drivers, the Win8 drivers only support 2.4, the Win10 drivers only support 2.4. You cant connect to a 5 GHZ connection. No point calling it dual band if you cant get 5 GHZ

In the end I had to install Mediatek drivers so I could connect to one or the other

I just bought one of those (still in sealed packaging.. so wont open yet).
I cant believe its a core issue with the device.. so when you say "it wont recognise my WiFi".. what do you mean exactly?
You mean the device is not detected?
Or windows detects device.. but it cant see any wifi networks?
Or it can see networks but cannot connect?
Or it can connect but no data flows?
or something else?
From your description - I assume its not detecting ANY wireless networks? you sure/checked you have your SSID being broadcast?
restarted your wireless router/access point? you are reasonably close to router/wireless point?
Can you give us a bit more..
Cheers

Sorry I didn't know how much I needed to say. Windows sees the device because when I clicked the button to see if it tell me what was wrong. It showed the name of the adapter so it recognized it. It doesn't see any networks. I don't know how to check to see the ssid is broadcasted. I have reset the router. The router is downstairs and the computer is upstairs and maybe like 25 feet apart if it were on he same floor. If that makes sense. I hope that answered some of your questions.

OK - apologies for checking, but you have turned on wireless and set it up as directed?http://setuprouter.com/router/westell/a90-750022-07/wifi.htm

Just want to make sure all the basics are done :)

Hmmm.. not sure I would trust my mum to set up a router..😉
But the point I trying to make.. you KNOW the router is working from a wireless perspective?
Do you have anything else that you can use to test the wireless? your/someones mobile phone for example.. that can see and connect to the wireless OK?

Cheers

well - I just fitted mine.. and it working fine on Win 10 64 bit.
I didn't use the supplied drivers.. just let Win 10 detect and use - and it found drivers fine and all is working.
To get WIn 10 to detect.. just uninstall the current drivers (from Device manager).. and then reboot and Win 10 will detect and do its thing.
HTH

Yes.. see my link a few posts up.. they do confirm this card if fully supported in WIn 10 with the default Win 10 drivers.
The driverdoes not report itself as TP-link.. it reports as the wireless chipset.. so I guess it using the coire chipset drives that TP link buy in.. but it works
