I bought a new router (TP-Link WDR3600) to replace my old router loaded with DD-WRT (Linksys WRT54GL). The Linksys router was great, just needed something newer with better output.
Everything is set up and every device in my house will connect to the router no problem and signal is strong. However, one PC using Vista (sad, I know) with a Netgear WG311T PCI card will not connect to the TP-Link router when the router is setup with WPA2-PSK security. So, currently my router is set up with MAC filtering which is a little too restrictive for my home, but will have to do for now until I can figure this out.
The same problem occurs if I load the TP-Link router with DD-WRT (though it kills my range which is a whole different can of worms).
Odd thing is that the Linksys router loaded with DD-WRT had no problem with WPA2-PSK on any device, including the PC in question.
Is there something I'm missing here? I don't know why the Vista PC won't play nice with WPA2 on my new router when it was just fine using the exact same configuration on the Linksys router. Is the WPA2 protocol on the TP-Link router fundamentally different from the Linksys router?
Any ideas?
