TPM connector? ( noob )

Hello

Is this thing good for any home user which does some work @ home ? I used to have GA-870A-UD3 Mobo and as I read the manual looks like that mobo didnt had such thing , now I have new mobo and its possible to get some TPM connector , now I wonder if that old mobo had it somehow by default like... already integrated or it didnt have such thing at all... Is it a good thing to get? How does incrase in security? Thanks

If you don't really know what it's for, chances are you won't ever need it.

I kind of know what is it for , just dont would like to know more about it , how does it work etc.
