Hello,
I installed TR1 under XP pro and glidos and all is ok (used the rush .exe file),
but can't find the way to make TR UB to work. I downloaded the 3dfx from
stella's site (I don't have the gold cd) and copied the exe file into the
tobraider directory (is this correct?) but then when I try to start TR UB from
glidos I have a message telling that the cd can't be found (but it is in...),
and can't find a solution. What is wrong?
Regards
Roberto

It's in the help file of Glidos, you need to delete the CDCheckfile line in
the unfinished business section of glidos.ini.

I just tested this because I have not played TRUB in a while. I'm
running WinME, so its not an XP thing.

I plan on putting this question Paul. This is not as it was in the
previous version of GliDOS that I had (albeit old).

The TRUB should not require the Gold CD since Unfinished business was a
free add-on to TR1. I never bought the gold version (TR1 + TRUB).

Now it was reserved for those who had purchased the original, so GliDOS
should probably check for either the original TR1 or TR1 Gold CDs.

thank you, done. But now there is another problem, all I can get is the main
screen menu, if I select "new game" then all stops and I have again the XP page
with the glods server open. I tried also to delete the "exesizes" line (read
about it somewhere but I'm not sure about what it is) but the resul is the same.
I can't go to the game. Any idea?

I guess that's what I get for not RTFM, eh? :) Thanks!
Works beautifully.

Do you have the TR1 CD in the drive? When I did not put the CD in, it
dropped right back to the desktop for me. With the orignal TR1 CD in
place all is right with the world again (at least my little corner of it.)

You have to use BOTH the TR-1 and TR-UB CD to work? Oy! Why in the hell can't
they ever stick to just ONE CD? KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!

Sorry. I'm feeling better now.

No, if you got the later version of TR that had TR-UB
on a separate cd-rom, just used the TR-UB cd-rom.

If you have the older version of TR and downloaded the
4 UB levels, you need to use the TR cd-rom to run the
downloaded UB levels.

That's not what I meant.

Glidos started out wanting the TR Gold CD (I guess), because it would
not let me play TR-UB with my CD.

Once I changed the glidos.ini file, it let me use the original TR1 CD to
validate startup.

So, one OR the other, not both.

That's because glidos assumed you have the later TR1 that included
the 4 UB levels on the 2nd cd-rom.

This is for those that downloaded the UB levels and just have the TR1 CD.
