Tomb Raider 2 - The hidden dinosaurs Easter Egg!
On the second part of the first level you will come to a large room with
a death slide. Rather than sliding down, tap backwards and grab the
ledge below the slide. Shimmy all the way to the left, let go of action
and hold it again immediately. You should now be holding the ledge
below. Shimmy to the right now, until you can climb up. Do so and go
along this corridor until you reach a ladder. Climb down this ladder. (I
usually drop down a few rungs then grab on again: saves time.) You
should now be on the cavern floor. Trot along until a dinosaur comes
angrily out. After I killed this one, I ran around the cavern and found
another dinosaur round a corner.


I don't recall ever seeing anything like this one. Any of you?

Isn't this the way to the third secret?

I played this level the other night. From the description this is the
cavern just after the timed run area where secret #2 is picked up. After
the death slide, there is an area with two tigers, followed by a room
with a dragon emblem on the door (end of this level)

On the cavern floor itself, there is a T-Rex to greet you, and after
getting the jade dragon, another T-rex on the way back.

I found this the first time playing through. At the top of the ledge Lara
is attacked by spiders (rats?), and one of them knocked me off the cliff.
I saw the ledge as I was falling to my doom.

IIRC, there's a secret (dragon) at the end of the valley. Or maybe just a
large health pack? And the second Rex didn't appear for me until I grabbed
the goody.

Yes, this is correct, liberty is correct also - this is a secret which you
need to collect the bonus ammo for the level. The second dinosaur can appear
before or after collecting the secret it depends.
