Question Track actual laptop battery life.

Is there a way I can see how long my battery lasted from the time I took it off charge un till the time it shut down.? With my kids new computers I want to make sure I have the correct power settings and have tested them before they go off to school. Estimated life is not very accurate and I am keen to know how the new laptops both run.

Run some tasks and start a timer. I usually load up a movie and loop it along with having some web pages and documents open in the back-ground to load up the RAM some. But this is overdoing things a bit. Just use the balanced setting where it dims the screen and lowers CPU max speed when on battery. If you want more battery life then set that to even stricter settings. There are probably also tests done on your system by reviewers where they test battery life.
