Essentially all of your social media apps are tracker apps. They monitor and post your location.
If on android: marshmallow (this OS version 6) has built in functionality to block permissions from apps, if you have something older then that then download PrivacyGuard from Snoopwall and then you can also manually set the permissions (note that these are manual apps, they are not automatic in any way, they have to be manually configured).
Also, turn off location services when not needing it (you will need it back on for things like GPS navigation)
