tranfsering windows to a new computer

If the copy of windows you are referring to came with your laptop, it will not transfer. The manufacturer uses an OEM copy of windows which locks to the computer's hardware. As soon as you connect to the internet, Microsoft will see you have different hardware and deactivate your copy of Windows.
