I brought a new transcend 8gb ram for my pc which already had 2gb kingston ram.

The problem is when i insert 8 gb Transcend individually or along with the 2gb It is not working , it will only load until the boot screen, and it restart again

But the 2gb ram works when i Insert it individually

The following are the details of my RAMs and pc :

Old RAM : Kingston 2gb 1333MHz
New RAM: Transcend 8gb 1333Mhz

*both RAMs are double sided

Processor : Intel i3 540 (3.07 Ghz)
Motherboard: Intel DH55TC

Please help me

Solution
The i3-540 CPU in the Intel DH55TC only supports up to 4 GB modules. 8 GB modules are not supported.

Some compatible Transcend 4 GB modules are -

TS512MLK64V3N <- DDR3-1333

TS512MLK64V3NL <- DDR3-1333

TS512MLK64V6N <- DDR3-1600 (BIOS will down clock automatically to 1333)

Solution

By the way, can i use two 4GB ram as i have four slots in my pc???..... brispuss???

Yes, two 4 GB modules can be used. But keep in mind that two individual modules might not work together because of variances in module characteristics. This applies even to modules with the same part number. So it might require trying several modules to find the memory combination that is compatible with each other.

Ok, thank you so much
