Hi all, recently had a little help from another member on here (props to GhislainG) about a SSD issue, hoping to delve a little deeper.
I have a transcend SSD370 128gb SSD that is acting up. It runs super slow - like read is 10mbps in my prodigy pc. However is as fast as to be expected in my nzxt system.
the pc specs.
CASE - Bit fenix prodigy case with 5x cooling fans
MOBO - as rock h97m itx ac
CPU - i5 4590 3.3ghz
GPU - Gainward GTX 750 Ti 2gb
RAM - 1x G. Skill Ripjaws 8gb 1333mhz
SSD - 1x transcend SSD370 128gb
PSU - silverstone strider 600w
OS: windows 7 64bit
what I have tried:
-updating all drivers and firmware (I think, not sure i've done them all though!)
-put problem SSD into my main pc and it worked fine reaching write speeds of 440mb+
-swapping sata cables
-swapping sata port on mobo
-updated uefi
-purchased seagate barracuda 500gb installed os works fine 100mb+ write speeds
-changed SSD in bios to act as a HDD NOT SSD which then the speeds reach HDD speeds (100mbps+ )
-Enabled and disable AHCI
-Enabled and disabled SMART
-enabled and disabled Aggresive link power management
-enabled and disabled Rapid start technology
-enabled and disabled Smart Connect technology
i don't believe cooling is an issue as running prime 95, my cpu temp is sitting at 60-65c
I don't think its the SSD, or sata cables due to it being fine in my main pc
I think its something to do with the motherboard,or firmware drivers etc.
all tests have been run through HD Tune Pro off of Hiren's boot cd.
so far my best outcome has been set SSD in bios to act as a HDD and have reached HDD speeds. But i feel like its a waste having a SSD in there which may aswell be in my main pc if its not reaching its full potential
ANY help is greatly appreciated,I'm still learning so throw anything at me, and i will try. let me know if you need any more specs or figures. Thanks in advance, Mitch
Thanks in advance!
