I recently bought a Transcend storejet 25D3 1TB(USB 3.0)... i fam facing a weird problem..

the problem is the portable is loosing connection from my usb 3.0 port randomly(even from usb 2.0 port) specially when i am seeing a video from the portable but it worked perfectly in other computer , laptops but in my pc it is giving the problems (more frequently in usb 3.0 port than usb 2.0 port) can anyone tell me where is the problem?
my usb ports are all all right because every other devices are working pefectly through the usb ports

Are you hearing the "device connected" & "device disconnected" sounds when it happens? If yes, it's a power issue (not enough power available through the USB port), as hard drives consume more power than other USB devices, but internal USB ports have a total upper voltage limit which can cannot be exceeded to match the demand.

Try a mains-powered USB hub: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mains+powered+usb+hub

Make sure it's supplied with a mains-adapter as some hubs have a mains jack but no adapter to plug in to it.

yes. i hear the sound....so, i need to buy a powered usb 3.0 hub?will that solve the problem?

i still don't understand why the portable hard disk is working flawlessly in different but exactly same type of my computer.

Recently I have stumbled upon this problem with my Transcend of the same kind. It is a 4 year old military grade 320GB piece, and I connected it to my new laptop.

I have resolved the problem by changing Power Management settings of USB hub by not allowing computer to turn it off to save power.

It worked for me.
